Bones and Brenda
Retired Racing Greyhounds

Bones and Brenda

Brenda (right) was born on July 12, 2001 and ran as RN's Golden Girl for 52 races from June 2003 to June 2004. She retired from racing in August 2004 after breaking the accessory carpal (stopper) bone in her right front foot. We adopted her on October 14, 2004.

Bones (left) was born on June 6, 2000 and had a long racing career (185 races) as Bone James Bone from January 2002 to December 2004. We adopted him on May 20, 2005.

Both dogs were adopted through Greyhounds Only, a not-for-profit adoption group that serves southeastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois.
With greyt heaviness of heart, we said good-bye to Bones, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 20 May 2011. A loving, loyal companion and a true gentle giant, Bones leaves behind a pack who misses him very much.
